Human-in-the-Loop Wins 2026 Webby People's Voice Award
We're honored to share that Human-in-the-Loop has won the Webby People's Voice Award for Best Responsible AI Implementation at the 30th Annual Webby Awards, in the AI Features & Innovation category.
This is the People's Voice — chosen by the public out of thousands of entries from around the world. We can't say thank you enough to everyone who voted, used the product, broke it in production, sent us bug reports, and pushed us to build something that takes "responsible AI" past the marketing copy.

What This Recognition Means
The Webby Awards have honored excellence on the internet since 1996, and the People's Voice category specifically recognizes the work that resonated most with the public. Winning Best Responsible AI Implementation under AI Features & Innovation tells us something important: people want AI that they can supervise, override, and trust — not autopilot.
That's the entire premise of Human-in-the-Loop. AI agents do the work; humans approve the consequential decisions. No black boxes. No "the model said so." Always a path to override.
To Our Customers and Community
The People's Voice belongs to you. Every approval workflow you wired up, every override that caught a bad call, every piece of feedback you sent us — that's what built this product, and that's what made it worth voting for.
A few specific thank-yous are owed:
- The compliance teams who pushed us to take EU AI Act Article 14 seriously from day one.
- The engineering leads who refused to ship agentic systems without proper oversight, and asked us to make it easy.
- The early customers who let us instrument their workflows when "human in the loop" was still seen as a speed bump.
You were right. Responsible AI isn't a tradeoff against velocity — it's how you ship faster without breaking things that matter.

The Bigger Picture
2026 is shaping up to be the year "responsible AI" stops being a slide in the keynote and starts being a regulatory requirement, a procurement gate, and a trust signal customers actually look for. Article 14 of the EU AI Act is now enforceable. The patchwork of US state laws is filling in. Buyers are asking for audit logs.
The Webby is a wonderful moment, but the real work is what comes next: making approval workflows boring infrastructure — the kind of thing every AI deployment has, the way every web app has authentication. We're going to keep building toward that.
What's Next
We have a lot shipping in the back half of 2026:
- Deeper integrations with the agent frameworks our customers actually use
- Richer audit and explainability tooling
- More out-of-the-box approval policies for regulated industries
If you're shipping AI that touches real decisions and you want a hand making it auditable, talk to us.

About Human-in-the-Loop
Human-in-the-Loop (hitl.sh) is an oversight platform for AI agents. We help teams put trained humans in the approval path for the AI decisions that actually matter — without slowing the rest of the system down. Our mission is simple: make supervised AI as default and as boring as access control.
Thank you, again, to everyone who voted. Now back to work.
